[ad_1]

The role of today’s modern woman varies significantly from that of her grandmother or great grandmother. The most significant different is that a modern woman is expected to work and earn a living most of her adult life, whereas, once her predecessors were married it was expected that they would stay at home, look after the family and run the household. The problem that arises with today’s woman is that she is still expected to raise the family, clean the house and fill many other roles as well as bring in a weekly contribution to the family’s income. There are also many women in today’s society who are single parents which compounds the responsibilities of her role. Today’s modern woman fills many different roles

  • Partner
  • Mother
  • Daughter
  • Sister
  • Money earner
  • Financial planner
  • Housekeeper
  • Dietitian
  • Nurse
  • Psychologist
  • Taxi
  • Teacher

And the list goes on. The pressure of being expected to fill all these roles can result in anxiety, depression and loss of self worth. It is therefore important for women to be able to access information to help them in these various roles. Their mothers, sisters and friends are of enormous importance with their support and sharing their experiences, however it is also important to source professional knowledge. Wealth creation is one important topic that need to be understood. How to set and maintain a budget, buying a house and investing are a few of the subjects women need to master. These skills also need to be passed on to her children to arm them with the knowledge they will need in future. There are a great many experts who can share their knowledge with you.

Another vital area of knowledge needed by today’s modern woman is an in depth knowledge of nutrition. With so much processed food in supermarkets and conflicting information it is very difficult to be sure what foods are good for the family and which should be avoided. New reports are coming out regularly advising that a certain food is cancer causing or another is good for the heart. The best way to be able to make an informed decision is to take part in discussions with other women experiencing the same problems. Remember that you are not alone. A lot of other women have experienced the same situations and are willing to help you with their knowledge. Look for groups in your local area or on line. Blogs on your chosen subject contain a great deal of interesting knowledge that you may find helpful. Kathy Williams
